Compatible SunBlogNuke v5.8 Building for DNN5

Migrate DNN Blog Data

As we promised ever, we always maintain the independent branch of SunBlogNuke compatible well with older version of DNN  CMS, such as the DNN4-building.

Today we would like to announce that we have built another compatible package of SunBlogNuke for DNN5.2+.

Even through you are still using the DotNetNuke 5, you don’t have to be worry about it and just feel free to let it there without any update as you like. Surely, the development status is still active; we will include updates with fixes if necessary.

You can get it here. We hope that with this generation dnn blog module  you can enjoy the blog writing and it will make your life better; plus if you have any good advice about our products, please feel free to leave a comment or contact us.

Note:

1) If your dnn website is DNN5.2 above, you should ignore this package and get more latest package.

2) We may charge $25/hour for premium support of these compatible buildings or some additional feature requests.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BTW,  if you would like to upgrade it with latest package in your DNN5/DNN6/DNN7+ website, the recommended upgrade path will be changed as follows:

v2.x/v3.x/v4.x –> v5.2 –> v6.2 or the latest package

How to Migrate DNN Blog Data of SunBlogNuke

Migrate DNN Blog Data

From 2002 DotNetNuke built from scratch, until now there are indeed LOTS of DotNetNuke versions, which had made everyone headache with DNN modules/skins maintenance. :(

Luckily, there still are more or less benefits to play with DNN because it exposed a few flexible APIs to make our life better, such as IPortable interface makes data migration easily and quickly between different DNN environments. Today I would like to show how to migrate blog data of SunBlogNuke, for example, from older version to latest fresh installation.

Upgrade SunBlogNuke.com with DNN 6.1.5

Upgrade_dnn6_blog_module

As Day of DotNetNuke Charlotte 2012 coming soon and the dnn 6.2 will be released in May 15. We would like to be ready for this important updates with a ton of new capabilities, more excellently for us is that it includes two huge areas:  social and service framework. In order to make everything run well, yesterday we began to upgrade our dnn website sunblognuke.com with stable core framework version 6.1.5 firstly. It took some hours to complete the whole upgrade process, including some fixes & UI adjustments. In this post we will share a bit around the growing pains that were experiences throughout the process and hope it helps with everyone, who also like to upgrade their dnn website.

Updateing Website with DNN 5.5 & Blogging Module v3.7.5

We just successfully upgraded our blogging platform website from DotNetNuke version 05.01.00, to version 05.05.00. So far, so good. We finally upgraded to dnn v5.5 because this fantastic release includes lots of stabilization and new killer features, especially content localization and enhanced performance, which are what we were looking forwards to.

Another good news is that our Ultimate Blogging Module - SunBlogNuke also have been fully tested with DotNetNuke 5.5.  We are not aware of any issues at this time and it just work as we expected. Later we will release a new building v3.7.5  with fixing some more bugs and issue. Hope it makes sense for you.

Enjoy Blogging and Writing. :)

Migrate DotNetNuke Blog into SunBlogNuke Module

Migrate DNN Blog Data

As mentioned previously on that post Ultimate DNN Blog Module – SunBlogNuke Roadmap, we are trying to develop the import feature for SunBlogNuke. I have seen multiple posts around our forum asking if there were any migration tool away from the core blog module and well now there is! In this blog post I want to share a SQL script, which will migrate all blog posts from the core blog to the SunBlogNuke module.
