Is it possible that the first article in the post list to be larger (for example full post) and the others just the description?

You can pinned the first post with customizing it with bold/large style. And you configure it the writing post panel, including pinned it & show it with full post etc. Hope it helps.

No but you can also automatically add specified style class in the first post item and make it different with other. Hope it helps.

Or alternatively you can use the "Content Slider Widget" module to implement this requirement. Just configure it with only one latest version post with full post there. That is the better solution. Thanks a lot. :)
