SunBlogNuke - DotNetNuke Blog Module

Our Ultimate DNN Blog Module – SunBlogNuke can be integrated with third-party services via the MetaWeblog API and RSD (Really Simple Discoverability), like Flickr and Posterous. Recently our client Tyler just completed integration with Flickr and also contribute a awesome tutorial for us, in which you will learn how to add blog posts directly from your Flickr account and share a Photo Slideshow into your dnn blog. Now we would like to share it for our community, which you can access from the download page, and hope it makes sense when you are trying to do the same thing but not any clues. In a word, I though that it is awesome gift for us. With the contributed guideline, we would be happy to thank him with a two month extension on his license's access to support and updates. We encourage any sharing for our module because they will be helpful in our community.  If you have more tricks and tips about SunBlogNuke, please share it here or contribute it to us. I hope everyone is having a good morning! Today we are glad that SunBlogNuke v4.7.5 is available for free upgrade, which is compatible with new generation DotNetNuek 6. In this building we just introduced little updated but focus on some issues, such as supported IP field in the comment entity & integrated with Comments+ module seamlessly. As I mentioned in the last post - Important Fixed Version 4.7.2 for SunBlogNuke, in the upcoming v5.0 we will utilize lots of core APIs & awesome features introduced from DNN5+ & DNN6, such as Taxonomy. Hope making it much easier to build and maintain Web sites with our blogging product.

Major Highlights in v4.7.5:

• ENH - Supported DotNetNuke 6.  (You can see how it action in our new launched website - http://dnnwave.com/Blog.aspx and it works like a charm with Excellent Interface.)
• ENH - Supported IP field in the comment entity.
• ENH - Integrated with Comments+ module seamlessly.
• FIX - Performance issue of Content Slider Widget made website failure.

In the past months there are lots of feature requests for Ultimate DNN Blog Module – SunBlogNuke from our customers; we are appreciate those feedback and review them carefully. Today the enhanced version SunBlogNuke 3.1.0 is available with automatic authors assignment, which is also one of the high priority feature requests. As usual, the complete details for all of the changes can be found in the Release Notes.

Major Highlights (updated for fixed version 3.3)

• Supported the sort order feature when editing categories.
• Supported links in comments.
• Fixed the issue where multiple contents in the core search results.
• Fixed the issue where TagCumulus disappear without enabling Friendly Urls.
• Fixed issue where all featured posts disappear when posted back.
• Fixed issue where there are spaces in tags.
• Fixed issue with the tagcloud where it is not compatible with the iFinity URL Master module.
• Fixed issue where all posts disappear when upgrading with v2.4.x.
• Enhanced RPC client service with Metaweblog API.
• Enhanced RssFeed output and fixed some Rss format validate issues.
• Provided the switch option to control the comments order, like from oldest to newest or vice versa.
• Extended blog permission/role – Allow bind the blog role with DNN core role. You get the detailed issue from the post - Automatic authors assignment.
• Fixed issue where toolbar and share icons cut off in IE.
• Supported for RSS auto-discovery aggregation so that your blog RSS feed is easily accessible to visitors for subscribing to it in the latest web browsers, such as IE or Firefox.
• Supported for RSD (Really Simple Discoverability) which allows client software to auto-discover RPC services using nothing more than the URL for your blog.
• Other fixes and more customizations.

As with any release, we recommend you perform a complete file and database backup before performing any upgrade on a production website and that you first conduct a trial upgrade on a staging version of the site. Following these guidelines will ensure that you are able to recover should any unforeseen problems arise during the upgrade process.
